Dental appointment scheduling that never double-books a chair

OPD Sathi gives every doctor their own appointment book, built around their working hours. The front desk sees free slots instantly, and two people can’t book the same slot, even at the same second.

What the front desk sees

The home screen opens on today: every appointment in time order, who has arrived, who is in the chair and who is still to come. Counters at the top show the day’s total, how many patients are waiting, how many are done and how many are new.

  • One view or per doctor. Switch between all doctors and a single doctor’s day.
  • Status in one tap. Confirmed, arrived, in the chair, completed, no-show or cancelled.
  • Find a patient fast. Search by name or any part of the phone number while booking.
  • Move or stretch an appointment. Drag it to a new time, or drag its bottom edge to make it longer.

Working hours, breaks and leave

Each doctor has their own weekly hours, including a shorter Saturday or a day off. Block lunch or a regular break once and it repeats every week. Mark leave days and those dates stop accepting bookings.

Procedures carry a default length: a consultation might take 15 minutes, a root canal sitting 45. When you pick the procedure, the slot is sized for it automatically, and a doctor can set their own durations if they work faster or slower.

No double-booking, even on a busy morning

Two receptionists, or a receptionist and a doctor, can try to book the same slot at once. OPD Sathi locks each doctor’s day while a booking is saved, so only one of them succeeds and the other is asked to pick a different time. No overlapping appointments, no apologising to a patient who was told the wrong time.

Who can see which appointments

The owner and front desk see every doctor’s book. A visiting doctor can be limited to their own appointments. Every booking, change and cancellation is recorded in the clinic’s audit log with who did it and when.

Common questions

Can patients book appointments themselves?

Patients can sign in to the patient portal with their mobile number to see their appointments, bills and prescriptions, and request an appointment. The clinic confirms the time, so your book stays under your control.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. OPD Sathi runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or clinic computer, so the doctor can check the day from anywhere.

Can I set different hours for each doctor?

Yes. Every doctor has their own weekly hours, breaks and leave days, and their own procedure durations if they want them.
