Be clear about what this is
OPD Sathi is general dental clinic software. It does not have a tooth chart, and it does not track aligner stages or lab orders. If you need those, you need a dedicated tool. What it does well is the practice side of an orthodontic clinic: money, visits, photos and patient communication.
Long treatment, one package
Create a treatment package with a total cost and a number of installments, say ₹45,000 over 12 months. Every payment is recorded against the patient’s khata, with the method (cash, UPI or card), so you know who is up to date and who is behind. Our guide to treatment installments covers how to set the terms.
Khata for dues
With dozens of patients on monthly payments, a notebook of dues does not scale. The khata gives every patient a ledger of charges and payments, and their balance is visible when they come for an adjustment. See khata and billing.
Short adjustment visits
Set a default duration for an adjustment, for example 15 minutes, and each booking is sized correctly. Each doctor can override the default. With a separate appointment book per doctor, you can fit these visits in around longer procedures. See appointment scheduling.
Clinical photos and X-rays
Upload clinical photos and X-rays to the patient file, so progress pictures sit with the patient’s history. Note that uploaded files are currently stored with Google Cloud in the USA. See patient records.
A patient portal for parents and patients
Patients sign in with their mobile number and OTP to see their appointments and bills, and to request an appointment. That cuts down “when is my next visit?” calls. Read about the patient portal.
