We make OPD Sathi, so we are not neutral. Facts about other products come from their own websites, opened in November 2026, and are linked below. Features and prices change, so confirm with each vendor before you decide.
What an Indian dental clinic should look for
Start from your daily problems, not a feature list. Most clinics lose time and money in the same few places.
- Appointments per doctor. Separate books, working hours, breaks and no double-booking, especially if you have visiting doctors.
- Billing that matches Indian practice. Part payments, treatment installments, a patient ledger (khata), UPI and cash, and GST where it applies.
- Patient records. Medical alerts, visit history, X-rays and photos, and a way to import your existing patient list.
- A tooth chart, if your work needs it. Some clinics chart every visit; others only need notes. Decide before you shop.
- Where it runs. Browser only, or also Android and iOS apps. Check what your front desk really uses.
- Price you can read. Some vendors publish plans; others ask you to book a demo. Both are fine, but know which you are dealing with.
- Data handling. Where data is stored and how the vendor treats patient information under the DPDP Act.

Five options at a glance
This table covers only what each vendor states on its own website. A blank or “not stated” cell means we did not find it on the pages we read, not that the feature is missing. Ask the vendor.

Where each one is strong
Practo Ray
Ray is made by Practo. Its product page lists ABDM compliance, automated appointment SMS, online payments from patients and the Practo Pro app, and says it is used by 50,000+ doctors (as listed on their website in November 2026). Its plans page shows prices from 999 a month on a one-year term. We did not see a tooth chart mentioned on that page.
Clinicea
Clinicea’s dentistry page describes FDI tooth numbering, periodontal charting, treatment plans with estimates, instalments for packages, camera-linked imaging and inventory upload. It also says you can centralise management of multiple clinics. If charting and imaging are central to your work, this is a stronger fit than OPD Sathi.
PappyJoe
PappyJoe’s dental software page lists integrated dental charting, inventory with low-stock alerts, and says it supports multi-branch and multi-doctor practices. Its home page describes cloud and premise-based options with a mobile app. Pricing is by quote.
BestoSys
BestoSys’s home page lists restorative and perio charting, end-to-end lab work tracking and Android and iOS apps. Its plans page says pricing depends on the number of branches and doctors.
OPD Sathi
OPD Sathi is deliberately narrow: appointments per doctor, patient records, prescriptions and billing with a khata ledger. It has no tooth chart, lab orders, inventory, SMS or iOS app, and no multi-branch consolidated reports. In exchange it is simple to learn, runs in any browser, and the published price is low.
Which fits which clinic
- Solo dentist or one or two chairs, mostly consultations, RCT, scaling and cosmetic work: a simple tool is often enough. See software for solo dentists.
- You chart every tooth at every visit: shortlist products with a tooth chart, such as Clinicea, PappyJoe or BestoSys, based on what their sites list.
- Several doctors and chairs in one clinic: check per-doctor appointment books and role-based logins. See multi-chair clinics.
- Several branches: look for consolidated reports and centralised management. OPD Sathi does not offer these; Clinicea and PappyJoe say they support multiple locations.
- ABDM or online payments matter to you now: Practo Ray lists both on its site.
- Tight budget and no desire for a long contract: compare published monthly prices and trial terms side by side.
How to test any of them in a week
- Import 50 real patients from your register or Excel file.
- Book a week of appointments for each doctor, including a lunch break and a leave day.
- Make three bills: one full payment, one part payment, one treatment on installments.
- Have your receptionist, not you, do the booking for two days.
- Ask where your data is stored and how you can export it if you leave.
